What is the UOT:LAB?

The University of the Trees: Lab for New Knowledge and an Eco-Social Future [UOT:LAB]
The UOT:LAB is an alternative, mobile university and global exchange for exploring connective thinking and connective action. It is a framework for interdisciplinary eco-social practice, research and reflective, participatory action.

DEVELOPING NEW FORMS OF CREATIVE, CONNECTIVE ACTION

The UOT:LAB offers 'instruments of consciousness', strategies and approaches for enabling mind-shift work and connective action. It explores the relationship between imagination and transformation, and supports "paradigm shift in practice". Through the generation and practice of new knowledge, it inspires, informs and supports creative responses to the huge challenges facing us all.

A FRAMEWORK FOR ECO-SOCIAL PRACTICE AND RESEARCH

Through our INSTITUTE FOR ECO-SOCIAL PRACTICE, we offer workshops, training, connective practices, coaching, consultancy and 'social sculpture' arenas to individuals, organisations, think-tanks and communities for developing 'future capacities'.

In our FACULTIES we are experimenting with ENQUIRY LABS: a new approach to interdisciplinary research, knowledge generation and connective action, in which we use 'connective thinking and connective practice' methodologies to explore some of the big questions of our time.

A GLOBAL NETWORK OF CHANGE-MAKERS

As an evolving global network of facilitators, citizen-researchers, and placed-based MICROLABS, the UOT:LAB involves people from many different contexts and disciplines. What is shared is a commitment to enlivened and connective ways of thinking and doing, which enable positive [r]evolutionary change towards an eco-social future.
